Vermont’s point and license suspension system

Unlike other states, almost every violation is a “moving violation” of which points accrue to your driver’s license which result in (1) higher insurance, and (2) suspension of driving privileges. Because of this, it is crucial to retain counsel to fight all moving violations to prevent insurance increases and license suspensions

Title 23, chapter 25 of the Motor Vehicle Violations point system, 23 V.S.A. § 2506, lays out the statutory scheme and framework. Both Vermont licensed drivers as well as out of state license holders and unlicensed drivers are subject to having their Vermont privileges suspended.
